Not surprisingly, it was raining. It's always raining here. I grew up in northern Indiana and it was bad but this seems to be at another order of magnitude. So I decided to take the day off today to enjoy spending time with Kelly and to sleep.
Kelly is doing great today and sounds like her old self. She remains pretty weak and her fine muscle control sucks - but both are a world better than yesterday. She tried to look at things on her cell phone but kept dropping it on her chest incision - ouch - until she put a pillow over her chest.
She'll probably be in the ICU for two more days because she has a spinal drain in. I don't think she needs it but they see that she has gotten better and so want to keep it a while longer.
That's all for tonight.
“Sounds like her old self”... so awesome! Love this post!
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear she is having such a good day!
ReplyDeleteRain seems better than Snow. But, I suppose they keep the ICU cooler than the rest of the hospital. Remember to bring a sweater just like mom told us when we went to San Francisco from Palo Alto. Ask Ann if she remembers that!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to add the Ann, and you, should ask for those warmed blankets they keep in a secret place on the floor.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear that things are still trending toward the positive! Hopefully Kelly will be able to lose the drain and get out of bed. She has never seemed one for sitting still for very long. That alone must be torture.
ReplyDeleteLester and Olive wanted me to tell you that they successfully defended the homestead's airspace from several evil hot air balloonists yesterday--you're welcome!!--and also that they are almost out of treats, which of course is the true concerning thing in all of this!
Much love to the both of you!
I can't wait to see her new scars! Hope the sun makes an appearance soon.-- xoxo mb
ReplyDeleteYippee for more good Kelly news!! Hope you get some sunshine soon, Kevin. You certainly deserve it!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Susan
